Chief James Breletic has vision and passion for the City of Lake Park, the police department, business owners, and community. Creating an atmosphere of trust and security. He also dedicates his efforts to bettering his officers. By improving their skills and abilities the community is better protected and the officers as well. Prior to Chief Breletics’ arrival in the Georgian city of Lake Park the police department was struggling. Through some quick investigations, the Chief noticed that annual reports usually are reported to the FBI for statistical information, had not been reported by previous Chiefs.
He also noted the working conditions of the Lake Park Police department. The officer’s equipment was outdated, layout of office insufficient, and the general morale low. So the Chief put together a to do list he was bound and determined to turn the agency into a key installation for the city and its citizens. Through a rough period of seven months the Chief was able to update officers firearms to the Glock 40 cal. pistol. He was able to obtain new vests for his officers offering more safety for his officers. He also remodeled departments offices to make it more modern and acquired new servers to better secure data collected and researched by officers. These and many more tasks were accomplished through resources either donated or deeply discounted to better help the Cities taxpayers. By helping the officers in his department he is essentially creating a safer and better operating law enforcement backbone of the community.
It is apparent that Chief Breletic is stirring things up in the town of Lake Park and making some improvements that are sorely needed. Asserting community policing as a priority he is effectively turning the hearts of the people of Lake Park towards the law enforcement community and slowly regaining the confidence they had lost so long ago.
